Paul Goodfellow is an artist with an interest in the application of ecological and systems thinking and computational and procedural methods to the understanding of nature and art. With a background in environmental science and systems thinking, he is interested in information's aesthetic and affective experience and the liminal spaces between the subject and its simulation in data. He employs surveying, data collection and image processing techniques derived from Geography and Earth Science and procedural and rule-based methodologies from Systems Art within his art practice to explore spatial, temporal and conceptual patterns in nature and its expansion into technology and information.
